Apparently the economy is so bad Preisdent Obama has put the White house up for sale on Redfin.com. According to UrbanTurf, a site that covers real estate in Washington, Redfin listed the 55,000 sqaure foot White House as For Sale By Owner for only $10 million!
From what Urban Turf is saying, Redfin accidently pulled an example listing from Owners.com by mistake. Redfin released a statement today with their explanation as to how the error occurred.
"At Redfin we want to show all the homes for sale. So in addition to showing you homes for sale from MRIS, the MLS in DC, we also get for sale by owner homes for sale from Zillow, ForSaleByOwner.com and Oodle," the statement said. "Oodle in turn pulls for sale by owner homes from a number of different sources. Turns out one of those sources, Owners.com, shows the White House listed for sale."
Though in the end you might be better off paying $10 million to get in the house versus the 270 electorial college votes.
