Dim lights

I think we may need to change the name of the prize to Nobel Obviously Politically Paid Peace Prize or NO PP Prize.  Obama won the No PP Prize for “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.” Now, I consider myself a very good American.  I served several years as an Infantryman and continue to serve in other ways.  As much as I would enjoy seeing an American be honored for such a prestigious award it makes absolutely no sense that he won the prize.

  • Barack Obama swore his oath of Presidency on January 20, 2009 at 12:00pm.
  • Barack Obama was nominated for the award in February 2009, just two weeks into his presidency.
  • The voting occurred in June, just four months into the Obama era.

The US is fighting two major wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  The Iraq War is slowly winding down but by no effort of Obama.  The push and resolve climaxed during the Bush administration and their tactics evolved into Iraq now.  Obama (No PP recipient) wanted to pull out and let a violent and bloody civil and regional war decide the outcome.

China and Russia are pushing forward to weaken the US and its allies.  Eastern Europe feels threatened.  Iran is exploiting Obama similar to the Kennedy Administration and the Soviet Union.

So somehow in the first two weeks of his presidency Obama made “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples” I just wonder how much of tax payer money insured the win Barack.  Enjoy your No PP Prize as embarrassing a win as this was.
